Youth Formation
St. James youth engage in outreach programs in Wichita and the Diocese of Kansas. The youth are a vibrant part of the parish family. They are active in the liturgy, serving as acolytes and assistants to the clergy. With their families, the youth also serve as ushers welcoming others to church for services and bearing the gifts of bread and wine for Communion at the offertory.
Youth Group (6th-12th grades)
Here at St. James, we aren’t interested in creating a “youth group.” Instead, we would rather our youth be involved in an authentic, life-giving, and Christ-centered community. We take the time to have fun together, seek to do life together, help our neighbors, and deepen our faith. You can expect games, talks, field trips and fun as we explore our faith together!
Middle School & High School Youth meet from 6:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. on Sundays, September through May. Exception: We meet at 11:30 a.m. on most fourth Sundays, when the church is having a potluck lunch. We do not meet in the evening on these fourth Sundays.

Youth Confirmation
Youth can be confirmed in the Episcopal Church after completing our six-week Youth Confirmation classes happening in the fall during youth group. Our classes are taught by Archdeacon Jeff Roper. To learn more about youth confirmation:

Choristers
The Choristers are young singers ranging in age from approximately age 8 to teens. Rehearsals start at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesdays from September through May in the music room. Choristers are invited to stay and sing with the choir when they arrive at 7:00 p.m.New members are always welcome. Contact Dakota Bennett, Director of Music at music@stjameswichita.org.
Choir
The Choir welcomes adults as well as high school and college-age singers. Rehearsals are 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Wednesdays from September through May in the music room. New members are always welcome. Contact Dakota Bennett, Director of Music at music@stjameswichita.org.
